Chunwangbong, the highest peak of Jiri Mountains

Chunwangbong is the highest peak in the Jiri Mountains area, it climbs up to 1915 meters above the sea level. Seeing the sunrise at the peak would be an unforgettable memory to everyone.  However, it is not easy to reach it in the darkness.  We have to concentrate on every one of our steps on treacherous trail.   The peak is always bustling with climbers all taking photos to memorize this special moment of the sunrise.

It is hard to see the peak during the walk because mysteriously, it is mostly covered by clouds.  However, if you are lucky, you can enjoy a fantastic scenery of the peak in the middle of the way to it.  Samsinbong is located in front of Yeonhabong and it’s the site of views of the peak. The end of trail, resembled a parting in hair, is Yeonhabong and Chunwangbone is located behind of it with clouds.

Jangteomok shelter, which is famous for its fantastic sunset has played as a base camp to climb Chunwangboneg.  The facilities of this shelter are modernized and very convenient for all ages.  Furthermore, it is not far from the peak, just a hour walk's distant even in the thick darkness.  Enjoying the sunset in the evening, staying at the gorgeous shelter, and seeing the sunrise at the Chunwangbong will transform you into some new and refreshed !
